For many visitors to Pattaya, they find themselves not venturing too far from the areas that they have either read about or been told about, so the FLB Bar Crawl is a great opportunity to get out and see a different part of town.
The meeting point is FLB Bar on Walking Street from around 19:30 (there are occasional forays out of town or daytime crawls, so it's best to check on the FLB Bar forum in advance) and pizza is supplied free of charge by the management whilst a vote is taken as to which area to visit.
Last night, the options were Soi 3,4 & 5 / Covent Garden / Beach Road.
The 'winner' was Soi 3,4 & 5 and around twenty people set off at 20:30 on a 4 hour excursion to sample the delights of the bars on 2nd Road between these Sois and finishing up in a bar complex on Soi 3 where it was then a simple task to catch a 'baht bus' back into town.
It's a fun night out and you get the opportunity to meet up with some fellow visitors. Some of which you may find yourself seeing time and time again in Pattaya.
FLB Bar Crawl - 16th August 2007

Category: FLB Bar Crawl, Added: Jul 19, 2007, 1 CommentFor some strange reason East Pattaya, that's the part of town over the main Sukumvit Highway, is often referred to as the 'Darkside'.
Seeing as though I actually have chosen to live in this part of town, I don't really 'get' the reference but it does add a sense of 'mystery' to the areas reputation.
Not for the first time, the famous FLB Bar Crawl has selected this area to explore, together with 20 intrepid travellers. Two Songthaews (Baht Buses) were arranged to meet the guys at Mikes Shopping Mall in Pattaya, before starting the 20 minute journey to the first venue ... La Guinguette.
La Guinguette is always one of the most popular destinations with guys on the FLB Bar Crawl, something about having a good selection of 'fun' girls mixed in with a private swimming pool always guarantees a good atmosphere!

The girls are really great fun, drink prices are very reasonable, even the lady drink prices at only 80 baht. The seating areas consist of four well ventilated 'grass hut' style, open sided constructions with offer sanctury from the sun and comfortable drinking.
However, if you do get a little hot, you always have the pool!
The girls are only too eager to join you as well, in fact rumour has it that if you visit La Guinguette at around 8pm in the evening, the pool is full of frollicking females ..... this has yet to be confirmed visually, but I'm sure one of us will get around to this eventually!
The next venue was the Black Pearl drinking / short time bar only 5 mins away. Generally, once again, this bar has an excellent selection of 'up for it' girls and competitive drinks prices. However, due to the fact that the owner has recently opened Black Pearl Two, the choice of girls was limited on this occasion.
Still some great fun to be had though and the 'Belly Tequilas' always go down well with guys and girls alike!

Covent Garden Area Bar Crawl
Category: FLB Bar Crawl, Added: May 04, 2007, Add comment
The choice was Soi 1 / Soi 2 or Made in Thailand Beer Bar Complex or Covent Garden Area just off Walking Street. A 'not so narrow' vote was won by the Covent Garden Area and after our free Pizza supplied by hosts Martin & Ricky of the FLB Bar, we were led off by Adam from the Cherry Bar.
It's only a very short stroll from the FLB to our first port of call, 'The Rolling Stone 2 Bar', and seeing as the rain had departed for the time being, pleasant enough.

Despite this being only the first bar of the night, one of the 20 or so members on the crawl was so taken with his hostess that the descision was made to pay a 'barfine' for her straight away. She changed and joined the rest of on the walk to the next venue, Catz A-Go-Go.

The 'infamous' Weekly FLB Bar Crawl
Category: FLB Bar Crawl, Added: Apr 30, 2007,What can be said about this event that hasn't already been said throughout the many Forums discussing Pattaya? Not much!
For those that have yet to experience the event however, please allow me to divulge a little of it's proposed purpose and reasoning.
The FLB Bar Crawl takes place, as the 'title' suggests, every week and is an eagerly anticipated event that forms a 'focus point' for many visitors to Pattaya. Many 'newbies' (1st time visitors to Pattaya) and 'seasoned veterans' make it their mission to attend at least one of these events during their stay.
For what reason? Easy, it's an ideal opportunity to meet up with fellow visitors, make friends / contacts and see areas of the City that you possibly would not find if you were to 'forge you own path' as they say.
The 'Bar Crawl' is hosted by the FLB Bar on walking street and is ably guided by 'Hammer' from the Cherry Bar on Soi 8. Quite how these guys, Martin, Ricky & Adam, manage to find the time to research and 'set up' these 'crawls' is hard to comprehend, as all three are very busy in the Management and Organisation of their own bars.
Saying that, their efforts are well appreciated by the 30 or so participents that enjoy the event every Thursday. Their local knowledge cannot be bettered and their choice of venues from the many Beer Bars, Hostess Bars and A go-go's cannot not be faulted.
To find out more, contact either Martin or Ricky at the FLB Bar, or Adam at the Cherry Bar .... they will be only to happy to supply further details and schedules. Alternatively, 'log in' to the best Pattaya Forum at Pattayatalk.com/forums
